Deliria Blood Moon and Hastur's Invasion
Two named nights. A town worth holding. No extra horde calendar.
Deliria advertises two invasions. Not a weekly rotating roster, not a fan-made third event. The names you can print are Blood Moon and Hastur’s Invasion. Everything else is a boss, a biome, or a pack of ordinary nightmares. If you need the rest of the tutorial map, use the guides hub. If you need the fight meter, use the combat guide.
Flavor text already tells you how a Blood Moon is supposed to feel: “The moon blossoms into an eye of blood, and the night is no longer blind…” That sentence is the event. Treat it as a sky that started hunting, not as a loot timer.
Why a town is the mechanic
Marketing’s invasion sentence sits next to the NPC sentence. Build a house, someone moves in, build a few more, you have a town, then you hold that town through blood moons and invasions. The NPC page is who lives there. Building is whether the shell is a house or a decorative crater.
A cube-free wall is still a wall. Overhangs, ramps, and closed roofs matter more when the night is no longer blind. Leave choke points you can read in third person. Leave a torch line that does not require a wiki overlay. Hammer and torch are already on observed hotbars — controls for the bar, getting started for the first-hour version.
Arming NPCs and sending them into battle is a published feature. An invasion is the obvious homework for that feature. Do not assume they tank Hastur while you AFK in a quartz hole. Mining can wait until the sky is ordinary again.
Blood Moon
Read the moon. If it has blossomed into an eye of blood, you are in the event even if a quest log never pings. Expect pressure on the surface, not a polite dungeon instance. Style rank still counts. A Blood Moon is a crowd-control exam: spears and arrows in the Steam copy are the kind of sentence this night wants to make literal.
Bring food. The apple on the bar is not a joke. Bring a weapon family you can keep a chain on — swords, guns, bows, or magic — and do not dump SSS on the first chip hit. The weapons tier list can wait; survival of the town cannot.
Co-op helps. Multiplayer is how you assign the roof versus the gate. Disable world PvP unless you really want the kill feed to print friend percents during a moon event.
Hastur’s Invasion
Hastur is the other named siege. Lovecraftian marketing is not subtle in Deliria — nine gods in the widget, blight and strange biomes in the trailer grammar — and Hastur is the invasion name that sits next to Blood Moon instead of on the bosses list.
Do not collapse Hastur into Yoggoth, Eye of Deliria, or Leapus because the vibe matches. Bosses are bosses. This is a town assault with a proper noun. Prep like a defense: geometry, light, ammo, a recall plan if you have that tool, and a group that read /help before the sky changed.
Creative mode can spawn mobs on teams. That is useful for aiming a pit. It is not the same as Hastur arriving while ten NPCs are inside real houses.
What this page will not do
- Add extra invasion names to feel complete.
- Pretend Blood Moon is a boss title.
- Promise specific drops from either night.
- Copy a Terraria event table and swap the header.
Seventeen biomes change the backdrop — forests, deserts, frozen ridges, ruins, rain, snow, blight, mushrooms, dungeon lips, Lovecraftian ground — and the biome tier list ranks those backdrops. An invasion in blight is still the same two names. Playstyles can pick who stands on the wall. Boss tier list is for the morning after, if you still want a named god.
Claire Noelle’s soundtrack will make the night feel expensive. Spend that mood on a door that closes.
Two named nights, not a mystery calendar. Blood Moon turns the sky into an eye of blood; Hastur’s Invasion is the other siege you actually have a name for. Arm the house, keep style rank honest, and do not invent extra horde events to feel prepared. When the moon blossoms, the wiki’s job is to keep the town standing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many invasions does Deliria have?
Two named ones: Blood Moon and Hastur's Invasion. Bosses are a separate roster on the bosses guide.
What is the Blood Moon line?
"The moon blossoms into an eye of blood, and the night is no longer blind..." Hold a real house; see building.
Is Hastur a boss or an invasion?
Hastur's Invasion is the siege name. Do not merge it with Yoggoth or Eye of Deliria. Combat rules still sit on the combat guide.
Should I mine during an invasion?
Not as the plan. Come back to mining when the sky is ordinary. Defend with friends using multiplayer.
Do NPCs help?
The pitch is a town you hold, and you can arm NPCs. Start with housing on the NPC page.
When can I play these events?
They are in the live Steam client. Track release timing for the listed store date and the roadmap for shipped pillars versus unnamed gods.
